Bangkeros of Pagsanjan

boatmen-1boatmen-2boatmen-3Faux HDR photos of the Bangkeros (boatmen) of Pagsanjan. They paddle and bodily lift the bancas (canoe) upstream to the Pagsanjan falls.
Trivia: Pagsanjan falls isn’t actually in Pagsanjan. It’s in Cavinti, Laguna. The locals call it Magdapio falls.

A quick search about these folks yielded some sort of pageant: Ginoong Bangkero. Yup, complete with Ginoong Internet Choice.

Matsuri

Went to Shibuya to meet meet some friends and drop off contraband goods. Brought a camera, just in case, and was rewarded with a small festival about to start near that famous crosswalk (the busiest in the world). I don’t know what festival it was. (Awa-dori?)

Edit (2009/05/24): This was the Shibuya Ohara Festival.  Thanks to I Rub Your Blog.

Steph

These were pictures taken from a workshop being conducted by Lenard Po. I wasn’t part of the workshop (it wasn’t free), but I gave Lenard a few cans of Purefoods Sisig to let me shoot the later sets.

HDR: Senjogahara Plateau

Now that I have a faster PC, I tried HDR processing on some old bracketed photos. Here’s two photos of the Senjogahara Plateau in Nikko, Japan.

backstory

barefoot

I love taking photos that tell a story.
Here I wanted to tell: “there’s someone enjoying the spring grass and cherry blossoms barefoot”. It doesn’t work as well as I want it to, though. Perhaps a lower angle and some blurred people in the background?
